What is Responsive Web design?

Responsive Web design is the approach that suggests that design and development should respond to the user’s behavior and environment based on screen size, platform and orientation. In general website behave is dependent on your device size on which you are viewing/visiting the website.
In design view every device is different as per their resolution and screen sizes. Design mainly deal with the presentation of website to visitor. As good presentation, more no of visitors. So it is the key concept of development of website.
Also responsiveness deals with the user interaction to website for example a smart phone user will get different view than dekstop user as smart phones are smaller in size than desktops. As per screen rosolution changing the views of website to have better interaction of user is responsiveness of that website.
For responsive webdesigns there are several frameworks available in market. Bootstrap is most widely used framework for responsive web design.
The practice consists of a mix of flexible grids and layouts, images and an intelligent use of CSS media queries. As the user switches from their laptop to iPad, the website should automatically switch to accommodate for resolution, image size and scripting abilities. In other words, the website should have the technology to automatically respond to the user’s preferences. This would eliminate the need for a different design and development phase for each new gadget on the market.
